PILOTS

Alkan Air currently employs approximately 30 pilots. Our low employee turnover means that our pilots have total flying times well above industry averages. We have been expanding and welcome resumes from pilots interested in making a move to Whitehorse. Alkan Air operates in mountainous terrain, into primarily gravel strips and we highly value experience in these conditions. The minimum requirement for a pilot position with Alkan Air is as follows:

• 500 hours Total Time
• Time on type is an asset for all positions
• Tail-wheel, mountain and bush time is valued for bush pilot positions.
• IFR and multi-engine time is valued for all positions
• Preference given to individuals with their ATPL.

AVIATION MAINTENANCE ENGINEER

Alkan Air has a number of Aircraft Maintenance Engineers on staff and, like our flight department; the turnover in the maintenance department is very low. However we welcome new resumes to keep on file for future positions. Experience on our types is considered an asset.

RAMP AND DISPATCH PERSONNEL

Ramp and dispatch personnel are vital to the day to day operation at Alkan Air. Our full time ramp and dispatch managers are assisted by workers who are often up and coming pilots learning the industry and our operation. This crew is often supplemented by additional seasonal workers during the busy summer season. Alkan Air looks for motivated, hardworking and safety conscious workers eager to learn the operation.
